Diesel Technician

Job Type: Full-time, Monday- Friday 

Salary: $20.00 to $30.00 /hour       

Job Description 

Our diesel mechanics work in the comfort of an air-conditioned and heated shop on medium size trucks, F250, F350, F450. Diesel mechanics perform work specified on the respire order with efficiency, and in accordance with dealership standards. They are responsible for diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing vehicle automotive systems, including engine, transmission, electrical steering, suspension, breaks, and air conditioning. Technicians at Dorsch are provided with uniforms and laundry service.

Responsibilities:

  • Work medium size trucks (F250, F350, F450)

  • Diagnoses, maintains, and repairs vehicle automotive systems including engine, transmission, electrical steering, suspension, brakes, air conditioning

  • Perform work specified on the repair order with efficiency and in accordance with dealership standards

  • Test components and systems using diagnostic tools and special service equipment

  • Communicate directly with the Service Advisor so that customers can be informed of any additional service needed.

  • Provide an estimate of time needed for repairs

  • Execute repairs under warranty to manufacturer specifications

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma 

  • Must have at least 2 years of experience as an diesel technician

  • Must be knowledge in all aspects of automotive repair and maintenance

  • Must be a team player

  • Must have a valid and clean driver's license

  • Must be willing to submit to a background check and drug screening

Responsibilities:

  • Approach, greet and offer assistance or direction to any customer who enters the dealership showroom or sales lot
  • Determine each guest's vehicle needs by asking questions and listening
  • Explain product performance, application and benefits to prospective customers
  • Describe all optional equipment available for customer upgrade
  • Keep abreast of incoming inventory, new features and optional accessories, etc.

Auto Collections Assistant (Bilingual)

Job Responsibilities:

  • Solicit and take payments from customers on all outstanding vehicle balances, including in-person cashiering and customer training on kiosk payments
  • Make collections phone calls and enter notes in the collections CRM, including updating customer address, employer and contact information
  • Manage the aging and recency of all outstanding receivables, attempting to reduce the percent of payments in various aging buckets
  • Prepare and send Right to Cure letters
  • Enter all new loans into the collections CRM
  • Work with attorney to prepare all of the necessary information to file judgment for overdue balances (including skip tracing when needed)
  • Oversee daily banking functions and ACH chargebacks
  • Process any insurance updates
  • Acquire new titles from auction or trade-in vehicles
  • Aid in all other duties as assigned by Auto Credit Manage

Parts Counter Person

Job Responsibilities

  • Manage inventory
  • Order parts
  • Determine and satisfy customers needs  
  • Communicate with customers over the phone to locate needed parts or service 
  • Determine which parts are in inventory, require reordering, or must be special ordered
  • Assist manager in resolving discrepancies between computer inventory and actual inventory
  • Obtain information needed to place special orders and ensure correct parts are sent
  • Research availability of parts
  • Search part numbers using the computer or standard catalogs.  
  • Stay on top of seasonal parts, recall parts, and  specials in the Service Department. 


Required Skills:  

  • Ability to communicate with customers
  • Ability to monitor inventory
  • Must be knowledgeable of parts counter procedures, such as requiring prepayment for special orders, etc. 
  • Ability to search part numbers utilizing a computer
  • Ability to monitor bins and determine which parts need reordering 
  • Ability to accurately track parts
  • Ability to monitor lost sales for inventory control 
  • Must be Knowledge of procedures for ordering special parts or parts with no published part numbers  
  • Ability to identify and acknowledge the receipt of warranty (used) parts 
  • Must be organized
  • Must be eager to work 
  • Willing to submit to a pre-employment background check 
  • Must be willing to submit to a drug screen prior to employment


Required Qualifications 

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Current and valid driver's license  
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds 
  • Available to work Saturdays every three weeks on a rotating schedule 


Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience as a parts technician
