Deer Season in Wisconsin

Many hunters hope for a deer the minute they arrive to their site but no one hopes to hit a deer with their vehicle. Our furry friends are out and on the move getting ready for another cold winter. Fall is peak season for vehicle vs animal collisions! Here are a few ways to prevent accidents with an animal:
1. Slow down in the areas where there are deer-crossing signs. These signs are important because it is already known that deer cross there due to sightings or other accidents.
2. DO NOT SWERVE! You risk hitting another vehicle, a tree, or even the animal you were trying to avoid as they might get scared and run the other way.
3. Make noise. If you have enough time to react, honk your horn for the animal to move out of your way.

If you were not lucky enough to miss a deer, turkey, bear or any other animal, stop by the Dorsch Collision Center. Pat, Brian and Kira are here to help you get back on your way as quickly as possible. Our Collision Center does not charge for an estimate and works with all types of insurance companies.
